Merchandiser Amsterdam

Do you have 1-2 years of experience in fashion product merchandising? And do you have excellent analytical skills and Excel skills, specifically: reporting and handling large sets of data, executing pivots and other analysis? A major global fashion brand with its headquarters in Amsterdam is looking for a Merchandising Coordinator. Please note, the deadline to apply for this role is Monday, May 10th at 6PM.

The Position
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager of Underwear, this position is responsible for driving the divisional product strategy and the implementation of a European product assortment for Men's Underwear. This role is responsible for the communication with the global Merchandising team to develop a collection fitting our strategic goals. The position as also in close connection to Sales, Planning, Marketing, retail and e-commerce departments.

The role encompasses the creation of product merchandising plans which include both replenishment and seasonal product. A strong knowledge of the product requirements for each European market and making sure that these requirements translate into product is key.

Key Responsibilities:

The Merchandiser will be reporting to the Merchandising Manager and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance of the line list and collection style master data base to ensure all teams have the most up-to-date info available incl. all late add and exclusive offer;
  • Own the seasonal bi-weekly Merch reports;
  • Conduct research related to product, competitors, market and consumer trends and communicate the EU need/opportunities to the global team on a regular basis;
  • Create country feedback form and compile qualitative feedback across all channels and regions;
  • Work closely with the Merchandise Manager on proposals for the digital assets (PR look, marketing one-pager, line book images...), and assure all credits are communicated to the Merch Ops and Marketing teams;
  • Creating seasonal look books and sales memos with all product related changes/comments for our sales teams to use during sell in period;
  • Own key tasks specific to Market Launch: SMS tracking and processing, collection shoot for iPad (model bookings, hair and make-up ' when physical meetings are allowed);
  • Own the sample inbound process and distribution to all shoot destinations/showroom.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • BA degree
  • 1-2 years + work experience in fashion product merchandising, knowledge of underwear product category is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication and negotiating skills
  • High level of analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong entrepreneurial mind set - Autonomous and proactive
  • Understanding of European countries requirements and ability to translate the needs into the collection
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel (reporting and handling big data amount, executing pivots and other analysis) as well as Word and Power Point
  • Fluent in English
