The position
As a Design Manager you are responsible for leading the technical processes in the tender and implementation phase of our civil infrastructure projects. You lead the design and engineering team in the design, work preparation and implementation phase and are responsible for checking (or having checked) outsourced engineering and all design and engineering interfaces within the project. As part of the scope you are responsible for leading processes such as interface and risk management.
Your responsibilities
Coordinating design decisions and technical solutions in close collaboration with your colleagues in commercial, purchasing and operational functions is an essential part of the task to achieve the best project outcome. You have a central and professional position in the design process towards customers, classification agencies and subcontractors.
Job requirements
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language is mandatory;
  • Master in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialization Geotechnical Engineering;
  • At least 10 years of work experience in a comparable position in the civil infrastructure industry;
  • A result-oriented, creative and analytically strong colleague;
  • A proactive approach and enthusiasm for coordinating and motivating people;
  • Excellent communication skills, both on a personal level and on a more formal reporting level;
  • Someone who likes challenging project dynamics;
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad.
