Data Steward

Working as a Data Steward at Finance Transformation and Reporting brings an unique opportunity to work on the complex path between Finance & IT. All projects within the Finance Transformation Program impact our data delivery, systems, processes and the way we present our financials.

The function as Data Steward offers you a salary of €2.651 to € 5.095 per month on a basis of 36 hours, depending on your knowledge and experience.

Your impact as Data Steward at NN Life & Pensions
You support NN Life & Pensions with the improvement of data quality by reviewing, streamlining and improving the data quality for Finance data and implementing an integrated and optimized data quality monitoring framework. You strive towards the implementation of correct and increasingly effective data quality controls. You execute impact- and root cause analyses on data quality issues and are responsible to monitor the resolvement of data quality issues. You have an important impact on the broader Data Governance and on other integration initiatives, this to ensure further data quality improvements throughout the entire organization.

Your responsibilities

As Data Steward you are responsible for reviewing, streamlining new DQ deliverables in the reporting processes and setting a good and pleasant work environment with your colleagues over the whole dataflow (from data owner to end user) and improving the data quality controls for the Finance data items within NN Life & Pensions. Your talent and enthusiasm on data quality management increases the efficiency of the existing controls and results in a future-proof data duality framework that is in line with the requirements of NN Life & Pensions and the local legislator (DNB).

  • Guarantee a correct implementation of data quality controls, monitoring framework and corresponding processes. Your contribution in further optimizing the existing control process is crucial
  • Coordinating the monitoring and reporting efforts surrounding data quality and data quality issues: collect and consolidate information of the different parties involved over the hole data flow, keep track of important developments that can impact data quality, and follow-up on issues and risk-mitigating measures
  • Support, advise and challenge the parties involved with data quality controls, issues and processes.

Who you are

You have a Masters in a Business Administration, Finance, Data Science or related field of study, preferably with some experience in the insurance industry

  • You can easily adapt and absorb new data or information in a changing environment
  • You are familiar with PowerBI, SQL, or other query language
  • You are a team player that knows how to coordinate with stakeholders at business and IT. You are flexible, change-minded and like to take on responsibility
  • You have got great analytical capacity and are able to execute autonomically
  • You have excellent communication skills. If you can help someone, you do not think twice about it.

The Finance Change and Data Management team is part of the Finance Transformation and Reporting Department. Finance Transformation and Reporting consists of 6 teams and is responsible for both the financial reporting of the liabilities and the execution of large change programs within Finance at NN Life & Pensions.

Because of Covid-19, all NN colleagues are currently working from home digitally. The official location for this job is Rotterdam.
