- Define and maintain GCP usage guardrails (access, environments, policies).
- Lead platform roadmap and release planning with a product mindset.
- Own FinOps practices: budgeting, tagging, cost tracking, and optimization coaching.
- Provide secure, scalable network design patterns.
- Collaborate with the CISO to enforce “security by default” principles.
- Deliver reusable templates and checklists for infrastructure provisioning.
- Define standards for data storage, security, quality, and lineage.
- Support platforms like BigQuery and Vertex AI with practical enablement.
- Establish approved patterns for APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Govern lifecycle, versioning, and security of integrations.
- Define service levels, alerting, and dashboards for platform health.
- Lead incident coordination and post-mortems; drive preventive actions.
- Implement robust single sign-on and least-privilege access controls.
- Translate ISO/SOC requirements into actionable platform checks.
- Manage change and risk through lightweight design reviews and exception handling.
- Proven hands-on engineering experience in cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP).
- Strong knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud integrations (on-prem, SAP, other clouds).
- Experience with FinOps, security frameworks, and audit readiness.
- Strategic mindset with ability to treat GCP as a product.
- Clear communicator with ability to explain technical risk and cost in plain terms.
- Decisive governance and stakeholder management across multiple teams.
- Calm under pressure, especially during incidents and escalations.
- Vendor management experience with cloud providers and support partners.
- GCP Professional certifications (e.g., Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer).
- Experience in retail or ecommerce environments.
- Familiarity with data enablement tools.
