In the Cloud tribe, in the Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) area, the position of a senior engineer for Cyber Security Backup & Recovery has become available.
As a Senior Engineer in the Cyber Security Backup & Recovery squad, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient backup and recovery solutions that safeguard ING against ransomware threats. You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, automated, and compliant recovery capabilities for our global infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement advanced backup and recovery solutions, including immutable storage and air-gapped architectures.
- Automate recovery processes to reduce manual intervention and improve speed and reliability.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, NIS2).
- Monitor system health and recovery readiness, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap discussions, ensuring alignment with ING’s resilience objectives.
- Document and communicate technical designs and operational procedures clearly to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, backup/recovery solutions, or cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of modern backup technologies, immutable storage, and recovery orchestration.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (private/public) and global infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
- Agile mindset with hands‑on experience in Scrum or SAFe methodologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.
