Ibis Styles Rotterdam Ahoy is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and hands-on Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. In this role, you will support the Food & Beverage Manager in the daily management of the F&B operation and act as an important point of contact for the team on the floor. You will report to the Food & Beverage Manager and work closely with the Executive Chef and the other hotel departments.
The hotel has 250 rooms and is located in the ‘Hart van Zuid’, just steps away from Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center and Zuidplein. Our restaurant and terrace overlook the Zuiderpark and offer an Italian-inspired concept featuring freshly prepared Neapolitan sourdough pizzas and Italian-inspired cocktails. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you are right at the heart of the operation. You lead by example, actively participate in service and work together with the team to ensure that every guest feels welcome. You support the team with scheduling, training and coaching and take the lead during shifts when the Food & Beverage Manager is not present.
Your duties and responsibilities include:
Managing and supporting the F&B team during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Actively participating in the daily operation and ensuring smooth, welcoming and personal service.
Supporting the Food & Beverage Manager with staff scheduling, onboarding, training and coaching.
Taking the lead during shifts and acting as the first point of contact for both employees and guests.
Ensuring that operational standards and procedures are followed and maintained.
Monitoring guest satisfaction and responding directly to feedback or operational challenges.
Ensuring effective cooperation between the restaurant, kitchen, Front Office and other hotel departments.
Contributing to achieving the revenue, cost and quality targets of the F&B department.
Monitoring stock levels, orders and ensuring correct processing and registration where required.
Contributing to commercial initiatives, events and ideas to further develop the restaurant.
Identifying challenges within the daily operation and proactively suggesting improvements.
Supporting and replacing the Food & Beverage Manager when required.

Job Requirements
You have relevant experience within Food & Beverage, for example as a Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or Supervisor.
Preferably, you have at least 1 to 3 years of relevant operational hospitality experience, including some experience in leading or supervising a team.
You are guest-focused, commercially minded and have an eye for quality and detail.
You have a hands-on mentality: you do not only manage the team, but actively work alongside them.
You are a motivator, communicate clearly and are comfortable taking responsibility.
You are able to maintain an overview during busy periods and know how to set priorities.
You are flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and during events.
You have a good command of both Dutch and English, enabling you to communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
Preferably, you live in the Rotterdam area or have a strong connection with the city.
Experience with casual dining concepts and/or hotel F&B operations is an advantage.
