Are you a strategic business developer with C-level experience? Do you have a passion for building high-performing commercial teams and scaling impact through data and insight?

We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to head our Analytics and Consulting team—a crucial force in driving smarter decisions and global reach for higher education institutions. You’ll be at the forefront of helping universities navigate complexity with clarity, powered by our unrivaled data and intelligence.

The Analytics and Consulting Team (ACT) advises and assists universities, governments and other organisations in the higher education sector to realise their ambitions in the field of strategy, portfolio development, student success, international marketing and international student recruitment. We are spearheading a revolution for universities to become data-driven in their strategy, programme choices and go-to-market. Our areas of expertise are Analytics, Consulting, and Training.

We are looking for an experienced Director to manage and boost our business development and delivery, not only for universities and governments but also for consulting firms and for corporate clients in their global quest for talented students. You will be leading our team of the best consultants, researchers and data experts, consisting of 12 dedicated, multinational professionals, across seven countries. Overall, Studyportals employs over 200 people in our offices around the world.

This role is based in UK (remote) or our Eindhoven headquarters in the Netherlands, located in the old Phillips Clock building, on Strijp-S, an exciting hub of entrepreneurship, technology and design (Strijp - S video). We are open to hybrid roles: partly remote combined with significant office presence and travel. As an international company, our main language is English and proficiency in the Dutch language is not required.

The challenge

Your main challenge will be growing our ACT team to it’s full potential, growing and lifting the team and boosting the sales of all ACT data solutions and consulting services to both new and existing clients. Besides business development, you are also expected to provide the best market insights and strategic advice to our. We are an ambitious team and with your help, we want to significantly grow our impact, our revenue, while maintaining our high client satisfaction.

The activities

In a position with the chance to excel in building lasting partnerships with our higher education and corporate clients you will be involved in the following activities:

• Formulating strategy, offering and execution of that plan
• Management and development of the team
• Growing order intake, revenue and contribution margin
• Help optimise the complete commercial cycle: from lead generation to project implementation in collaboration with the account managers in the regional business units
• Connecting with universities to help them diversify and grow their international student body, using real-time data to support strategic decision making
• Connecting with consulting firms to help them serve universities using Studyportals data and insights
• Focus on acquisition of new clients and retention of existing clients
• Support your team in achieving its goals
• Support and bring new ideas on how to use our massive amount of data to its fullest potential
• Contribute to Studyportals’ thought leadership through whitepapers, webinars, and presentations at conferences
• Travel (internationally) several times per year to meet clients and to attend conferences

The person you are

• You are experienced in consulting and business development and creating long-term partnerships with clients
• You have at least 10 years of experience within the Higher Education industry, preferably in Consulting, Sales or Marketing & Recruitment and are well connected in international higher education
• You have a strong understanding of, and ideally established relationships with, senior executives within universities, government bodies, and related entities
• You have at least 5 years’ experience in managing a team
• You have at least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in (International) Business or Marketing or a related field
• You have analytical and reporting skills and are a strategic thinker with an eye for business opportunities and are proficient in Excel
• You are fluent in English (no Dutch required, but a plus)
• You are an open and fun teammate – independent yet supportive – thriving in an entrepreneurial atmosphere
• You are open and enjoy an environment of direct feedback, are a good team player and fun to work with
• You can work independently in a dynamic and flexible environment, where priorities can suddenly change, and deadlines can suddenly be moved
• You are ambitious, energetic, and charismatic as well as result-driven and committed to success.
• You have EU or UK citizenship or a valid residency/work permit

• A position for 5 days per week
