Simply Green is a growing international B2B distribution business of cannabis related accessories based in Almere, operating across multiple European markets.
As our HR Officer, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR operation and act as the main HR point of contact for employees and managers. This is a broad role covering the employee lifecycle, payroll coordination, employee relations, recruitment, leave and absence, HR systems, reporting, and process improvement.

Our HR foundation is growing with the business. We need someone who can keep the day-to-day operation running reliably while continuing to improve the systems, processes, and controls behind it.
You will work closely with management, employees, payroll provider/EOR, occupational health partners, recruiters, and external partners.
This role suits someone who enjoys broad HR work, takes ownership, and is comfortable moving between operational detail and practical HR advice.
What success looks like:
Within your first year, you will have:
- Built and maintained reliable HR processes across contracts, payroll changes, leave, absence, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Improved HR data quality and reporting.
- Strengthened payroll and employee-data controls.
- Become a trusted HR contact for employees and managers.
- Introduced practical process improvements or automation.
- Supported managers more confidently with performance, sickness, and employee-relations matters.
What you will own
- Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding through employment changes and offboarding.
- Prepare contracts, amendments, salary-change letters, and other HR documentation.
- Coordinate recruitment for assigned roles, including screening, interviews, candidate assessment, and offers.
- Act as the first HR contact for employees and managers.
- Support employee-relations, performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace issues.
- Coordinate monthly payroll input, review changes, investigate discrepancies, and work with the payroll provider.
- Administer leave, sickness, and other absence processes.
- Maintain accurate HRIS, payroll, employee, and contract data.
- Monitor probation periods, contract renewals, and key HR deadlines.
- Identify HR risks and escalate complex matters where appropriate.

- You are comfortable challenging inconsistencies and asking questions when something does not add up.
- You enjoy improving processes rather than simply maintaining them.
- You can handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-moving international SME environment.
Requirements
What we are looking for
- Around 3–5 years of broad HR experience across multiple HR areas.
- Experience in an HR Generalist, HR Operations, People Operations, HR Officer, or similar role.
- Experience with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, leave, and absence.
- Experience working with HR systems and employee data.
- Strong written and verbal English.
- Dutch language skills are an advantage but not a strict requirement
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Additional qualifications in HR, payroll, or employment law are an advantage.
