The Lead Solution Architect for Record-to-Report (R2R) area is responsible for the design, integrity and quality of the SAP solution and of integrated applications delivered to Business. The person in this role will ensure that the SAP solution/service provides the required functionality and meets business requirements. Collaborates with and contributes to project setup and delivery as well as to service operations optimization. The Lead Solution Architect is accountable for managing workstream interdependencies mainly but not restricted to the End-to-End Stream.
Responsibilities- Define the overall SAP technical solution, ensuring cross-module and integrated application alignment.
- Lead and manage the global R2R solution architect team, guiding design, quality and consistency.
- Drive requirements engineering to determine use of standard SAP functionality vs. Enhancements or workarounds.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional streams to design optimized, cost-efficient SAP solutions aligned with SAP standards.
- Translate functional designs into detailed specifications, oversee documentation, and ensure training materials are maintained.
- Support validation and prioritization of business demands and communicate technical specifications to development teams.
- Participate in unit testing, UAT support, and defect resolution to ensure solution quality and readiness.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and SAP best practices, providing expert guidance for new or evolving SAP solutions and processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years in IT, including 8+ years in solution architecture with strong S/4HANA focus and 5+ years on global projects.
- Strong background in Finance / Controlling and manufacturing business preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of team leadership experience managing onsite/offshore functional and ABAP teams.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions and build consensus across business units.
- Demonstrated decision making skills, innovation mindset, and ability to drive change within virtual, multicultural teams.
- Hands-on experience with integration tools such as BizTalk and/or MuleSoft; SAP ABAP and ALE/IDoc knowledge preferred.
- SAP certifications (S/4Hana or related solutions) and proven experience implementing SAP best practices in complex transitions (e.g., carve-outs).
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; international work experience is a plus.
