About the role
As a System Engineer you play a pivotal role in the technical success of our projects from the initial development stage until successful realization. We are looking for an experienced system engineer with affinity in stage design, precision mechanics, dynamic behavior and machine control. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment together with a team of specialists and in close cooperation with our high-tech customers.
Key responsibilities
- Thoroughly analyze requirements to gain a clear understanding of objectives and deliverables and challenge them with regards to testability.
- Define test plans and procedures during the initial stage of the development and closely align with the project manager and the system and module architects.
- Define an integration plan, considering risk mitigation, planning priorities and limitations.
- Take ownership of complex mechatronic system integration, from concept to qualification.
- Execute system integration and system tests, analyzing and documentation of results.
- Ensure system performance through analysis, testing, and optimization.
- Collaborate closely with diverse teams, including hardware and software engineers, manufacturing experts, and quality assurance specialists.
- Proactively identify and tackle risks, developing strategies to address them effectively.
- Shine in your communication skills as you regularly engage with Prodrive management and esteemed clients to discuss technical concepts, hurdles, and potential solutions.
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Industrial Engineering, or Physics.
- 5+ years experience in a similar role in a high-tech environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical/mechatronics systems and technologies.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Analytic mindset, able to quickly assess issues and their root causes.
- Highly motivated, feel responsible and able to work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Strategic and creative thinking.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Being decisive, a relationship-builder, and pragmatic.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, Dutch, Korean or Japanese is considered as a plus.
