• Direct ownership of a proprietary power trading book

• Real P&L ownership, real accountability and meaningful reward for strong trading performance

• Opportunity to trade in one of the most volatile and opportunity‑rich energy markets

Why choose Eneco?

European power markets are changing rapidly. The growth of renewable generation, increasing congestion, negative pricing events, cross-border flows and evolving generation economics are creating new opportunities for traders who can identify and monetize market inefficiencies.

At Eneco, you don't simply execute trades. You manage proprietary risk, build conviction-driven positions and take responsibility for trading outcomes within a professional risk framework. This is a role for experienced traders who thrive in dynamic environments and are motivated by performance, accountability and continuous improvement.

You will join a trading organization that plays a key role in accelerating the energy transition. Your market insights help optimize value creation while contributing to a more sustainable energy system. At the same time, you'll work in a collaborative culture where knowledge sharing, challenge and teamwork are highly valued.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Proprietary Power Trader, you will own and develop trading strategies across European short-term power markets. You identify opportunities created by market volatility and translate your insights into profitable positions.

You combine a deep understanding of market fundamentals with disciplined risk management. You are comfortable taking calculated risk, managing drawdowns and making decisions under pressure. You understand the difference between executing trades and owning trading decisions.

You will work closely with analysts, traders and other market experts to challenge assumptions, develop new ideas and continuously improve trading performance.

Is this about you?

You are an experienced proprietary trader with a proven track record of generating risk-adjusted returns while managing a live trading book. You enjoy building conviction, taking ownership and finding opportunities in complex market environments.

You bring:

• A minimum of 10 years of trading experience;
• At least 5 years of experience managing a proprietary trading book with direct P&L responsibility;
• Proven experience in short-term power trading;
• A demonstrated track record of generating returns in volatile markets;
