The Netherlands has always had a strong reputation in financial trading, and this company isn't about to fall behind. As a High-Frequency trading firm, it breathes technology. For every trader on the floor, there are at least two developers. Make no mistake, IT is their core business. Because in such a highly competitive market, performance, speed, and reliability are key.
You? You'll keep a complex network of systems running, handling massive data at lightning speed to make every trade count. You're not quite fast intimidated by data. In fact, you enjoy figuring out how everything fits together.
Now you have my curiosity
As a Trading Reliability Engineer, you'll be right in the middle of a fast-moving, high-stakes environment. You troubleshoot issues the moment they appear, but more importantly, you dig deep to solve the root cause and make sure it doesn't happen ever again. You use the latest open source technologies to keep downtime to a minimum, turning trading requests into concrete, high-performance solutions with focus teams.
You coordinate and plan software changes to ensure exchange migrations and fast delivery of new features. Every day you work with traders, quantitative researchers, developers, systems engineers, network engineers and performance experts, making sure all components communicate like the best of the best. You manage massive and impressive data flows over a low-latency infrastructure, keeping trades fast, reliable, and precise. Shortcut? You take charge and keep trades running fast and smooth!
And from a more technical point of view?
Alright, the list is not endless but you have to have some skills you know. You have at least two years of experience as an SRE, System Engineer, DevOps or MLOps Engineer and are comfortable working in Linux-based environments. You can script and automate with Python and Bash, and you know how to use Kubernetes for deploying and managing large workloads. You've worked with complex systems before, and while some of theirs are proprietary, you take ownership and proactively improve systems to prevent downtime.
They work on a wide range of systems and tools built using Java and C++ and often solve issues using their knowledge of JVMs, database querying, and TCP/IP protocols. You thrive in high-volume, low-latency environments and know how to monitor, tune, and optimize systems. You dig deep to solve causes and ensure trades run reliably. On top of that, you communicate well, work effectively with different teams and are proactive about learning and developing new skills. Last but not least, you enjoy a challenge and love having a direct impact on high-speed trading systems.
And by the way... you can bring the certificates, but if you've got the curiosity and drive, you'll fit right in. So keep on reading!
