• Are passionate about leadership and have experience in leading others e.g. From work, sports, associations, volunteering
• Naturally take initiative and seek to reach results when it comes to both business and people
• Communicate clearly in English and Danish - both orally and written
• Have an interest in retail/home furnishing and it is an advantage if you have experience from retail or from a large sized organisation.

You also understand how to build relationships, create trust and are eager to support and develop people around you.Throughout the leader trainee programme you will be assigned to a specific department in either sales, customer support, logistics, IKEA Food or communication and interior design. Together with and supported by your leader, you will develop your leadership capabilities to be able to give and take responsibility. We believe in "on-the-job" training, which means that most of your learnings at IKEA will happen together with your co-workers in running business on the floor. Here you will be involved in your leader's every-day work, and you will gain skills in how to run a department with a million-kr. Turnover and between 8-50 employees.
From both in store and in trainings throughout the programme you will learn about:
• Your own leadership style, leading yourself, leading others and leadership at IKEA
• How to coach others and conduct e.g. Development talks and salary appraisals
• Retail foundation and Market approach
• Recruitment, people planning and budgeting.

• You will become part of shift schedule with hours on the floor and with responsible hours
• You should expect shifts during day- and evening hours between 08:00 and 20:30
• Expect 1 or two evening shift per week as well as every second weekend
