The team
As a Design System Designer of the Global Design System (Orange Juice), part of Touchpoint and the Banking Technology area, you will be working closely with design & dev teams (web/ios/android) across domains like Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking and Business Banking, driving consistency around the globe between ING's diverse products. You will boost the way we service our designers, design teams and improve local and global design processes and contribute to our mission of achieving the ultimate digital banking experience for our customers. While we do all this, we always support each other, learn from challenges, and have fun along the way.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Contribute to the evolution of a mature design system on topics like: evolution of the current components, design patterns, data visualisation, motion and the evolution of our design language.
- Leverage and extend the use of design system, documentation, patterns and assets in the creation of design deliverables.
- Collaborate with other cross-functional Design team members (Branding, Research, Design Operations, Content Design) and Business and Engineering stakeholders.
- Implement best practices in process and methodology and deliver against business and customer needs.
- Ensure that all the Design System output/visuals are consistent with the overall ING brand guidelines.
- Contribute to the wider global ING Design (350+) community leveraging your strengths to help others grow.
How to succeed:
- 5+ years in UX role, bachelor's degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields or equivalent professional experience.
- Being a hybrid UX/UI designer, who understands the complexities of building engaging digital experiences but also has the sensitivity for visual crafting.
- Experience being a hands-on designer and fluent with Figma design tool, creating or contributing to enterprise scale design systems, Design Tokens, deep understanding of accessibility.
- Thorough command of the UX lifecycle with deep, direct experience in all skill areas and tools, including facilitation of workshops or other collaboration techniques to drive momentum and credibility within the organization.
- Has a keen eye towards future trends, emerging technology, and shifting customer expectations.
- Experience managing multiple projects and sometimes even working through ambiguity.
- Compelling storyteller with strong presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in the international and cross-functional teams.
