Hotel Manager @ Via Amsterdam
In the dynamic environment of Via Amsterdam, the Hotel Manager plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient hotel operation. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations, including staff management, guest satisfaction, and facility management. With 200 rooms in various categories - which can occupy up to a 1000 guests - and other facilities such as a restaurant & bar, game area, cinema room and more, we operate in the larger segment of youth hotels.
In this role, you will lead a team of 80+ dedicated staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional guest experience - the Via way. You are the main point of contact for the head of departments of Housekeeping, Front Office (incl. Duty Managers), Bar & Restaurant, Kitchen, Culture & Events, and Maintenance. You will report to the Strategic HR & Operations Manager, who is currently overseeing the management of the hotel operations in Amsterdam.
You will be responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling staff, as well as conducting performance evaluations and addressing any performance issues that may arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently. You will also support the team in managing guest relations and ensuring a positive experience for all guests. These activities are executed with a commercial mindset, ensuring budget targets for revenue, payroll, and operational costs are met and project work around these subjects is done with efficient planning and effective teamwork.

A commercial and performance driven mindset, ability to identify
Multiple years - at least five - working in The Netherlands and around 1-2 years working experience in a hotel management role such as Assistant Hotel Manager or Head of Operations in a larger hotel operation.
Proficient in English, both verbal and in writing. Dutch is a strong plus.
