To support this next phase of growth, we are now looking for a Business Controller who will take ownership of financial oversight, business insights, and everything needed to keep the company financially healthy, compliant, and scalable.

What makes the role so great?

As Business Controller, you are the financial sparring partner of the founders. You look beyond the numbers: you independently spot risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities early, and act on them. You ensure the company stays financially sound while continuing to scale.

This is not a role where tasks are handed to you or problems are clearly defined. You are expected to see what’s needed, take ownership and act. Your role is forward-looking, analytical and cross-functional: connecting finance with the business and taking ownership where things need attention. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, variety, and impact in a fast-growing scale‑up.

What will you do?

• Act as financial sparring partner to the founders
• Create clear insights into company performance and cash flow through analysis and reporting
• Proactively spot and solve inefficiencies, risks, and things that “don’t feel right”
• Identify recurring issues and bottlenecks across systems and processes
• Collaborate with development and other teams to resolve issues impacting business performance
• Work closely with the financial controller on reporting, P&L and month‑end insights
• Take ownership of compliance and internal controls
• Coordinate with external parties such as accountants, auditors, lawyers and advisors
• Improve financial processes, reporting and tooling as the company scales
• Step in on adjacent topics when needed, with the goal of unburdening the founders

What will you bring?

• Residency in The Netherlands
• 5+ years of experience in business controlling, finance management or similar roles
• Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, hands‑on mindset
• Strong organizational skills and a high sense of ownership
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or similar

This is a full‑time job (40H/week) based in Amsterdam and is available as soon as possible.
