As a Senior Policy Officer, you will work on the development and implementation of policy on information management and openness within municipalities. You translate laws and regulations such as the Woo and the Public Records Act into concrete advice, frameworks and practical tools. You play an important role in advocacy towards national parties and support municipalities in the transition to an open and transparent government.
Tasks and responsibilities- Developing policy advice and client positions on Woo, Archives Act and information management
- Representing municipalities in national consultations
- Advising on governance, information management and sustainable accessibility
- Supervising implementation tests and preparing policy positions
- Identifying and translating (inter)national developments into municipal practice
- Contributing to the implementation of open government themes
- Completed university education (e.g. Public administration, law, information management or archival sciences)
- At least 3 years of experience as a policy officer or advisor within information management, public access or digital government
- Demonstrable knowledge of legislation such as Woo, Archive Act and/or Who
- At least 1 year of experience in a political‑administrative environment
- At least 1 year in inter‑administrative or inter‑municipal cooperation
- More than 5 years of experience in a political‑administrative environment
- In‑depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and developments
- Experience in translating policy into practical solutions
- Have a relevant network within government, municipalities and umbrella organizations
