Role OverviewAn experienced Product Owner is required to lead the prioritisation, coordination, and delivery of software solutions within an operational and payment-related systems domain.
The environment is supplier-led rather than developer-led, meaning systems are delivered and maintained primarily through external vendors. The role focuses on aligning stakeholders, managing backlogs, translating business priorities into clear requirements, and ensuring stability across business-critical platforms.
This position sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and commercial oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and prioritise one or more product backlogs based on business value and operational impact.
Translate organisational objectives into structured requirements for external suppliers.
Coordinate multiple vendors operating within a shared systems landscape.
Align operational teams, management, and technical partners around delivery priorities.
Support agile ways of working within a supplier-managed environment.
Oversee releases, changes, incidents, and lifecycle management to ensure continuity.
Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Maintain documentation across product and delivery processes.
Contribute to knowledge sharing and team development.
Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in complex operational environments.
Experience working with external vendors or outsourced delivery models.
Strong stakeholder management across operational and senior leadership levels.
Ability to translate business and operational needs into structured technical requirements.
Experience managing incidents, system maintenance, and change processes.
Comfortable handling multiple concurrent backlogs or domains.
Exposure to regulated, infrastructure-heavy, or operationally critical sectors is advantageous.
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Structured, analytical, and pragmatic.
Comfortable challenging priorities when necessary.
Able to operate effectively in environments balancing agile delivery with traditional governance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving capability.
Fluency in Dutch and professional English required.
