AFS Energy is growing, and so is the Legal & Compliance team. We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to support the team.

What you will do
- Participate in the analysis of (new) prospects to ensure that KYC/CDD documentation meets our standards and to assess the overall risk of their business model
- Support the business with drafting, analysing and negotiating various (international) contracts
- Participate in a framework to conduct compliance checks against laws and regulations before executing a transaction, and arrange communication with the Energy department when their advice is needed
- Update, develop and/or review compliance and legal policies
- Provide support to our Energy department on potential clients regarding AFS acceptance policies
- Provide any other legal and compliance support when required
- Master's degree in Law
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a corporate lawyer in a commercial environment or law firm
- Proactive and hands-on approach
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Excellent communication in English and Dutch (Spanish and/or Italian preferred)
- Team player who works independently and in a structured manner, is operationally oriented and has a critical mindset
- A full-time (40 hours) on-site job at the unique workplace on the Stock Exchange floor in Amsterdam
- Performance-based bonus scheme
- A 7-month contract with the clear intention of extending it into a longer-term position if both parties are satisfied
