Global Infrastructure & Engineering (I&E) provides Tech Infrastructure services and tooling supporting our global engineering workforce. Within Tech I&E, the Tribe Global IT Engineering and Operations (GITEO) provides the end-to-end Engineering Journey for our awesome Engineers, to ensure they can securely design, plan, code, build, deploy, test, run and monitor their product(s) and/or service(s).
The team
The Tribe GITEO comprises three Global Areas:
Global Operations - containing the GMCR (Global Monitoring Control Room), GMIM (Global Monitoring and Incident Management) and the Global ServiceNow platform
Global Monitoring - delivering the Global Monitoring Data Pipeline (MDPL)
Global Engineering - providing the One Pipeline CI/CD platform
Global Engineering Experience - enabling productization, quality, adoption and evolution of tools and platforms that comprise the global offering
The GITEO Tribe is looking to recruit a Customer Journey Expert (CJE) Engineering Engagement within the Global Engineering Experience Area reporting to the IT Area Lead Engineering Experience. The CJE will be responsible for generating engagement with ING engineering community to drive adoption of and contributions to the Scalable Technology Platform. Together with the Communication Channels team, this person will be responsible for growing engagement with engineering community, developing plans to promote current and emerging solutions for ING engineering community globally.
Role and responsibilities
Together with the Area leadership and Product Managers, create a community engagement strategy to promote contributions and use of the Scalable Technology Platform.
Engage with ambassadors across the organization to keep communities active.
Organize events under the umbrella of Engineering Experience.
Work with the community manager to engage engineers to participate in continuous learning and Scalable Tech initiatives.
Promote the usage of communication tools for engineering according to internal standards.
Moderate various communication channels in accordance with internal guidelines and standards.
Collaborate with Communications Channels Manager to respond to moderation requests on the engineering communication platforms (Mattermost, Stack Overflow)
Collaborate with members of the extended team and contributing tribes (Tech Academy, Engineering Area) on solutions and ideas to solve pressing problems
Recommend improvements in how we engage with engineering community
Contribute to creation and support of global engineering standards and practices

Specifically:
You come from or have an appreciation for software engineering, and ideally have spent a large part of your career working with or for engineering teams.
The language of tech is your language.
You are familiar with or are willing to learn about software delivery, the process, the tools and the steps involved in CICD.
You understand the power of truly cross functional teams, and can work alongside Engineers, senior Managers, and colleagues from different disciplines, to create a common goal and get the most out of all the expertise at the table.
You are genuinely interested in and understand how colleagues use our products and services
You are humble, yet confident, you have seen enough to have a toolkit you can refer to when things aren't working, and can help others understand that there may be a different perspective or way of thinking about things that helps them move forward.
You have a solid command of the English language, both spoken and written
A degree or Equivalent experience in the communications, event management, public relations field.
