We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team as a Senior Underwriter Professional Indemnity – if that could be you, please get in contact.
As a Senior Underwriter you will underwrite Professional Indemnity insurances in the Benelux.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

The Underwriter will have co-responsibility for proper risk selection, mix of business management, pricing strategies, adherence to underwriting guidelines and quality analysis for the lines of business.

You will report to the Underwriting Manager Benelux. The position requires travelling, both domestically and abroad.
What you’ll be DOINGWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
- Expand and manage the PI portfolio with profitable and sustainable growth
- Building and maintaining relationships with both clients and brokers
- Proactively advising, assisting, servicing and following up with clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance requirements
- Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management team
- Maintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims
- Actively promoting the AXA XL brand within the Benelux market
- Establish strategies and action plans with the Underwriting Manager Benelux and with the product line Chief Underwriting Officer for Professional Indemnity
- Oversee business development, generate submission flow to meet specific targets, and identify up-sell/cross-sell opportunities initiatives with other lines of businesses
- Anticipate market trends and keep track of specific underwriting issues
- Develop customer relationship management initiatives in coordination with Client Distribution Leads, particularly with brokers and Risk Managers of main Benelux corporations
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities- University degree in business or law
- Significant experience with Financial Lines underwriting and/or broking, with recognized knowledge and abilities overall with Professional Indemnity insurances
- Excellent local market knowledge and very good reputation in the market
- Analytical, proactive and communicative, takes on an active approach
- A team player, with an open mind and an ambition to learn and grow
- Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation
- High communication, negotiation and presentation skills (both written and verbal) in English and Dutch
- Passionate about doing business, negotiating and driving growth in a competitive market
- Demonstrated organizational skills and a talent for prioritizing tasks that align with both individual and team success.
