JaOver de functie
As an AI & MLOps Engineer, you develop the AI and MLOps platform that enables our data scientists to bring models to production faster, smarter and more reliably.
Verantwoordelijkheden
Visible work
: You help build our Data Science & AI platform that many of our data scientists and AI engineers use every day. A key part of your role is defining and implementing MLOps standards that enable teams to develop, deploy and manage models consistently and at scale. You integrate tools such as MLflow into project provisioning flows, create standard project templates and support the development of agent-based and AI use cases. This gives your work direct impact on projects in logistics, sorting, customer contact and planning.Challenge
: You work in a dynamic environment where you help shape our new Databricks platform while also supporting our existing AWS solutions. You are able to embed MLOps best practices into scalable provisioning pipelines and reusable project templates. You coordinate the migration, guide teams through the transition and help establish best practices for developing and operating AI solutions on the new platform. You also explore new Databricks features such as Databricks Apps, Agent Bricks and agent development. This gives you room to experiment, learn and contribute to the future of our AI platform.Good atmosphere
: You work with colleagues who are eager to improve, help each other and enjoy trying new things. You can bring your ideas, learn from others and grow in a supportive team.Flexibility
: You work hybrid: partly from home and partly from our modern office in the historic Stationspostgebouw next to The Hague Hollands Spoor. This gives you freedom to organise your week in a way that works for you.Responsibility
: You get real ownership. You help shape how we build and use our AI platform and how our growing AI community works with data, models and agent‑based technologies.Development opportunities
: You keep developing yourself through the PostNL Academy, by learning from colleagues and by working with modern tools such as Databricks, MLflow, LLMOps, agent‑based development and AI coding tools that support data scientists in writing better and faster code.Wat ga je doen
As an MLOps Engineer, you help build, run, maintain and evolve our central Data Science & AI platforms. You design and implement platform capabilities that enable data scientists to work in a consistent, scalable and production-ready way. A key responsibility is defining MLOps standards and embedding them into project provisioning flows, reusable Python packages and Databricks integrations. You create standard project templates for data science workloads, AI models and agent-based solutions, helping teams get started quickly while following platform best practices.
You play an important role in both the maintenance of our current AWS-based platform and the migration to Databricks. You work with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as AWS CDK and Terraform to manage and automate platform resources. You define migration standards, support data scientists during the transition and help test, deploy and improve their workloads on the new platform. You work closely with teams to train them in MLflow, LLMOps and our broader MLOps practices. You also explore how AI coding skills and coding assistants can help our data scientists work faster, cleaner and more reliably.
