HilverZon is looking for an enthusiastic new chairman
Do you support the goal of making Hilversum energy neutral by 2040? Do you want to help Hilversummers with greening and making it more sustainable? And could you help us think about how we shape the Regional Energy Transition in Hilversum? Are you of the big picture and perspective? And are you willing to propagate that at the club in Hilversum? Then you are the ideal candidate we are looking for!
What is HilverZon?HilverZon is the energy cooperative of Hilversum, originated from a residents' initiative with the mission to generate sustainable energy itself. HilverZon now has almost 500 members and manages 10 collective solar roofs with a total of almost 5,200 solar panels for the members.
What are we doing?We do this by setting up and managing collective solar roofs, providing energy advice by our energy coaches, making heat scans of homes and holding collective purchasing campaigns for solar panels (on our own roof) and insulation materials.
Together for a sustainable HilversumHilverZon is a cooperative where the members have ultimate say. The organization consists of a board, a limited number of permanent employees for day-to-day business, project councils for each collective solar roof and a large number of volunteers, including more than 20 energy coaches. In addition, HilverZon has a supervisory board that provides advice and assistance to the board.
The boardThe board consists of a chairman, a treasurer, a board member for new projects, a board member for solar roof management and an (intended) board member for communications. The board meets every two weeks. The intention is to reduce this to every three to four weeks. The time investment for the chairman is approximately 8 hours per week and can largely be filled in at times of choice. The board draws up the strategy and policy, monitors its implementation and ensures coordination with our stakeholders.
What do we expect from the new chairman?- You can think strategically but also like to get hands‑on and assist in the implementation.
- You are good at guarding the main lines and are the point of contact for the office coordinator and the coordinator of the energy coaches.
- Together with the board and permanent employees you set the lines and help if necessary with projects and activities.
- You chair the board meetings.
- You are the first point of contact for the supervisory board.
- You preferably have a relevant network in Hilversum.
- You are the first point of contact for the municipality, our most important stakeholder and financier, both administratively (alderman) and officially (energy transition program team).
- You have an affinity with working with volunteers.
- You represent HilverZon on the board of Energie Verbonden.
- You have final responsibility for the annual policy plan, grant applications and justifications.
- A management position with a lot of freedom, opportunities and challenges, with a board where everyone helps each other and stimulates.
- We do it together: experience is less important than motivation and inspiration.
- A place where you can design and implement ideas about sustainability and energy transition.
- A motivated team of permanent employees and volunteers to work with.
- A broad network of people and organizations in Hilversum with whom you can work together.
- Reimbursement of costs incurred or a volunteer's allowance.
