The Tax Management Consulting (TMC) team within Meijburg & Co advises clients on the organization of the tax function with a specific focus on tax technology & data management, tax risk management and compliance (out)sourcing.
The role of Tax Technology Consultant – SAP is pivotal for guiding our clients through their S/4HANA implementation journey. You will support our clients in understanding the importance of tax, the optimal way to address tax requirements and to showcase the added value for tax. To do so, you will work with clients to define their vision on the tax aspects of an SAP implementation, to validate the current state with that vision and to identify gaps for which you will help to design the proper solutions and activities as input to the larger S/4HANA design, build and deployment program. You will work together in cross-functional teams with colleagues that are experienced tax transformation professionals as well as SAP consultants from our (Inter)national KPMG network.

Your responsibilities- Participate in S/4HANA implementation projects with a focus on tax integration, from master data, tax determination to tax compliance & reporting automation
- Advise clients on tax issues and process improvements and help realize these in existing SAP systems (quality assurance / configuration role)
- Design and implement third-party tax solutions that integrate with SAP with the purpose to create an optimized tax process (e.g. E-invoicing, indirect tax determination engine, tax accounting/provisioning solution, tax compliance solution)
- Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and tailor SAP and third-party solutions to enhance their end-to-end tax processes
- Provide expert advice on SAP configuration matters, ensuring seamless integration with tax requirements and modules (e.g. SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC), SAP Tax Compliance (TC), SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC))
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for clients to demonstrate the use of SAP tax modules and integrated third-party systems ensuring smooth adoption and operational efficiency
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in SAP technologies and tax regulations to provide authoritative advice and services
Ideally, we are seeking a candidate with a background in implementing finance, controlling and/or taxation processes in or connected to SAP systems, complemented by a profound interest and/or experience in technology, or alternatively, someone with a strong foundation in technology who possesses a keen interest in taxes. Beyond tax and technical expertise, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic colleague with a strong personality, an innovative mindset and a fresh perspective. Additionally, you are communicatively skilled and service oriented.
As our ideal candidate, you also have- Proven experience as an SAP consultant (relevant modules SD, MM, FICO) (2-3 years)
- A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in: Tax Technology; Tax Law; Tax Economics; Information Management; Data Management; Computer Science and/or Econometrics
- Completed your degree and are keen to develop your career at a corporate organization
- A proficient command of the Dutch and/or English language, both spoken and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in complex project environments
- Experience in S/4HANA implementations, including requirements gathering from finance (and tax), IT and users as well as creating and reviewing design documentation, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of and/or experience with SAP tax modules (e.g. DRC, TC, PaPM, SAC) and tax relevant functionalities and processes (e.g. Parallel ledger, accounts receivable/accounts payable, record to report) is a plus
- Knowledge of or affinity with tax (compliance) processes (e.g. Direct Tax, Transfer Pricing or Indirect Tax) is a plus
