Starting in august, our 2-month traineeship offers an intensive, hands-on learning experience, to kick off your long-term sales career at AFS. You'll be based on the historic Amsterdam Stock Exchange trading floor, gaining real exposure to markets and products, developing your network, and learning directly from experienced professionals.
About the traineeship
The traineeship is designed to give you a strong foundation in both the financial and renewable energy markets, and a clear understanding of how AFS Group and AFS Energy operate within these fast-paced, commercially driven industries.
At AFS Group and AFS Energy, you'll discover the dynamic world of trading, from traditional financial markets to the rapidly evolving field of renewable energy. You'll rotate across multiple desks, gain real exposure to our products and clients, and receive hands-on training from experienced colleagues.
Alongside these desk rotations, you'll follow a program that includes professional skill-building sessions, targeted sales and negotiation training, personal development sessions, and fun activities together. Throughout the program, we'll help you uncover your strengths and develop the mindset and skills needed to thrive in brokering.
We don't expect you to have it all figured out yet. What matters most is your drive: you're eager to (cold) call clients, target-driven and motivated by results, socially confident, an energetic team player, and ready to prove yourself in a competitive market.

- Relevant education, such as Finance, (Account) Management, International Business, Hotel Management School, (Commercial) Economics, sales, Real Estate, IVA Business School (Automotive)
- 0-2 years of working experience in a sales role
- Demonstrated success reflecting strong commercial instincts and a drive to succeed in sales
- Fluent in English and a second language, preferably Dutch, German, French, Italian, or Spanish
- To be full-time available from the 3rd of August 2026. (No holidays scheduled during the first 8 weeks.)
- A full-time (40 hours) on-site job at the unique workplace on the Stock Exchange floor in Amsterdam
- Performance-based bonus scheme
- We offer a 7-month contract with the clear intention of extending it into a longer-term position if both parties are satisfied
