Tasks and Responsibilities of the FP&A Lead in Amsterdam
In this position, you will play a key role in driving financial performance and providing valuable insights to senior management. You will be responsible for forecasting, reporting, and analyzing financial results, while partnering closely with both finance and commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly forecasts and annual budgets for revenue and costs
- Report on monthly actuals (revenue, costs, FTE, CAPEX, DSO, D&A, etc.) in close collaboration with accounting teams (local & offshore)
- Support management with operating reviews, strategic planning, and budget discussions
- Lead the in-quarter forecasting process (bi-weekly) and present consolidated forecasts to senior stakeholders, including risks and opportunities
- Advise on revenue recognition (US GAAP) and challenge assumptions to ensure realistic yet ambitious forecasts
- Partner with local and regional finance and operations teams to ensure alignment and provide insights
- Design and manage analytical accounting processes across multiple entities, improving data flows and reporting quality
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Deliver ad hoc analyses using systems such as Hyperion, SAP, and Salesforce
- Potentially manage and mentor a Revenue Analyst
Your profile
- Strong background in Finance, Controlling, or FP&A
- Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis in an international environment
- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles (US GAAP is a plus)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across finance and business teams
- Experience with systems such as SAP, Hyperion, or similar tools is an advantage
- Proactive, communicative, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in Dutch and English
