About the position

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you’ll work across our front- and backend systems, building scalable features and improving the user experience for both parents and sitters.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer on our team, you'll play a vital role in crafting our platform and internal tools, making our service run seamlessly on both front and back-end. Your role

You’ll join our small, experienced Web/API team, where every developer plays a key role. You’ll write high-quality code, contribute to technical decisions, and bring your own perspective to improve how we work. Your input will help shape how we build our product.

Our Stack

• NodeJS + Express in TypeScript: Our API serving multiple frontends.
• Angular SPA web-app: Our main project for logged-in members.
• PWA embedded Android app: Our web-app which is loaded under an Android wrapper.
• MariaDB: Housing our user and translation data.
• CloudFlare: Our layer for DNS management, Workers, CDN, and more.
• ElasticSearch + Kibana: Powers our search, logs, and real-time monitoring.

What you'll do

• Build and improve features on both our API (Node.js + Express) and Angular frontend.
• Write API and E2E tests for new features.
• Spot bugs and suggest improvements proactively.
• Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and collaborate closely with product, QA, and mobile teams.
• Document processes and features as you learn and build
• Share ideas and propose technical improvements to our stack.

A typical day at Sitly

It’s Thursday, one of the two days you work from the office. You arrive at our office at the Rokin just across the metro station in the centre of Amsterdam. You grab a coffee before the team stand-up begins. Some of your teammates join remotely, while others are there in person. You share what you’ve been working on and sync on priorities for the week. You’re currently building a new API feature to improve sitter-parent communication, and you plan to pair up later with your onboarding buddy, another full-stack developer, for feedback on your implementation.

After the stand-up, you catch up with the product owner and team lead, who also work from the office a couple of days a week. Together, you review an upcoming feature and share your ideas on how to prioritise a few technical improvements. You bring your own perspective on how to enhance the platform. Your suggestions are well received and included in the implementation.

Around noon, a couple of colleagues put together one of their legendary shared lunches, something they enjoy doing for the team. You all take your time to connect over food and laughter, sometimes heading up to the rooftop terrace for a coffee and some fresh air.

In the afternoon, you continue working on your feature, write tests, and pick up a code review request from a remote teammate.

Required skills

• Seasoned full-stack developer with experience delivering features end to end.
• Expert in Angular
• Proficient in Node.js, with strong knowledge of Express, TypeScript, and backend architecture.
• Proactive: you take initiative, suggest improvements, prioritise, and take ownership.
• Strong grasp of clean code, best practices, and scalable systems.
• Solid experience with SQL and Git workflows.
• Bonus: experience with AWS, Cloudflare, ELK stack or Jenkins.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
