This role

As a Senior Front-End Developer, your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining our proprietary component library, as well as collaborating with a team of developers to create efficient, reusable, and dependable interfaces.

The Senior Front-End Developer has a broad remit encompassing – but not limited to – the work areas below:

• Architect, build and maintain efficient, reusable, scalable and reliable front-end interfaces
• Architecting the web component library
• Write clean code to develop functional web applications
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Perform UI tests to optimize performance
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
• Identify bottlenecks, bugs and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automation, i.e. Automated testing
• Follow emerging technologies
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
• Collaborate with designers to develop pixel perfect components
• Collaborate with back-enders to develop pixel perfect interfaces
• Maintain code and write tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
• Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, trends and technologies.

Core Competencies

The successful candidate for this job will be enthusiastic about the responsibilities above, and will have a skillset which complements the job well, including:

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Solid understanding of web components
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Ability to implement automated testing platforms and different kind of tests
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a component library
• Excellent understanding of front-end technologies and platforms.
• Stickler for high-quality code and clean architecture.
• Excellent analytical and time management skills
• Comfortable working in an Agile way, and to self-manage tasks and work flow

Required Skills & Experience

• BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years working experience ideally with digital agencies or tech start-ups.
• Strong understanding of web components
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
• Familiarity with continuous integration
