We are looking for a python developer (m/f/d) experienced in and ETL and automation

The service is requested as part of a project to automate regulatory list processing within a compliance platform. The platform manages over 100 regulatory lists in various formats (PDF, Excel, websites, scanned documents), with inconsistent data structures and quality. Scalable and maintainable automation solutions are required to handle both existing and newly requested lists. Existing semi-automated workflows are limited in flexibility, documentation, and long-term viability due to tool availability and digital compliance constraints. A future-proof, customizable solution is required to ensure continued operational efficiency and compliance.

• Project begins with sprint planning and continues in weekly sprints.

Tasks (independent delivery)

• Framework Development
  • Design and implement a proof-of-concept automation framework using low-code or Python.
  • Align technology choice with the client.
• Data Processing
  • Develop robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) methods for various input formats.
  • Standardize data into the client’s internal format.
• Comparison Logic
  • Implement logic for comparing chemical groups, names, and numerical identifiers.
• Version Control & Deployment
  • Set up version control, branching, and deployment mechanisms for maintainability.
• Testing & Validation
  • Advise on test design for pilot lists.
  • Validate automation accuracy and compliance with digital security standards.
• Documentation & Handover
  • Prepare training materials and documentation.
  • Ensure smooth handover to the client’s internal team.
• Agile Collaboration
  • Participate in weekly sprint meetings and daily stand-ups.
  • Independently assess feasibility of tasks before each sprint.
  • Report progress and recommend next steps during sprint reviews.

Skills Required

• Expertise in Python and/or low-code platforms.
• Experience with ETL processes and data standardization.
• Knowledge of chemical data structures and identifiers.
• Familiarity with agile development practices.
• Ability to create maintainable, scalable automation solutions.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Understanding of digital security and compliance standards.
• Language requirements – EN required, DE would be helpful
• At least 5 years professional/project experience should the person have

• Special software applications: Python, Azure DevOps, (low code frameworks)
