The Chief Technology Office (CTO), ING’s global IT department, contributes tremendously towards this strategy. Its services are essential for ING in providing superior customer experience. It is therefore of essence that CTO’s services are safe and secure, which includes managing the related financial crime, conduct, data protection and organization risks. CTO Compliance is the department that advises and monitors CTO in their management of these compliance risks. We are looking for a colleague who can strengthen our team.
The teamThe CTO Compliance team is part of Group Compliance and dedicated to the CTO organization. The team exists currently out of four compliance specialists and a team lead. The vacant position is for a risk management colleague that is the:
Dedicated Compliance Officer for several CTO sub-departments. In this role you are their first Compliance contact.
Team’s specialist for one or more compliance risk areas. As risk area specialist you (i) have oversight on the status of the risk area within CTO, (ii) provide your expertise to your team members and the first line’s policy specialists, and (iii) are the team’s contact person towards the specialists at Group Compliance (the ‘verticals’).
Team player supporting an agile way of working. In the end we deliver as team and support our colleagues in being successful.
As Compliance Officer at CTO Compliance you:
Focus on the essence of risk management and know how to work risk based.
Monitor internal and external developments that have impact on CTO for the risk areas where you are the team’s specialist. You share these with the team and the first line of defence.
Advise on different types of risk assessments.
Provide training and workshops on the compliance risk areas.
Perform quality assurance and monitoring of compliance risks and controls
Perform investigations on incidents and events.
Are dedicated to a CTO sub-department for which you:
Maintain insight in the department’s structure, products, main programs/projects and supplier contracts
Maintain the relation with the department’s management team and first line control officers.
Participate to management meetings, the department’s risk meetings.
Contribute to Group Compliance reporting and enhancement programs.

You preferably have a university degree or comparable experience and skills.
You have about 2 - 4 years of demonstrable compliance and/or risk management experience.
You have knowledge of (i) IT environment/departments and the relevant processes, products and services, and (ii) banking business, processes, products and services.
You have an excellent level of English, both verbally and in writing.
