Asylos is looking for an ambitious Network Coordinator based in Amsterdam (or nearby) with a passion for community management.

The Network Coordinator will work closely with the Asylos Director and Fundraiser based in Amsterdam, the volunteer community, and the UK consultants based in London. Under the supervision of the Director, s/he will independently coordinate Asylos’ community of 100+ remote volunteers.

This is a part-time (3 days/week) paid position, starting no later than January 15, 2021 and lasting for six months (subject to renewal).

Your tasks:

  • Coordinate the research flow: manage our research case work, liaising directly with the volunteer research coordinators
  • Recruit new volunteers and familiarise them with Asylos
  • Manage the community, including by writing regular newsletters and organising volunteer calls, meetings, and training opportunities
  • Develop the research process and methodology in collaboration with the volunteer research coordinators and our volunteer Research Standards Support Team
  • Communicate regularly with our beneficiary lawyers about case management, to collect feedback, and to build relationships with new potential beneficiary lawyers and caseworkers in our target countries (including UK, France, Belgium, US, Germany and the Netherlands)
  • Keep Asylos’ archive, research database and volunteer overviews up-to-date

We need you to: 

  • write and speak fluently in English. Fluency in French is a strong asset
  • be a good communicator who is passionate about engaging with a network of volunteers located in countries in and outside Europe
  • be able to work flexibly with volunteers in different time zones and levels of engagement
  • have a demonstrable commitment to meeting tight deadlines and helping others do so
  • be tech savvy: enjoy working with online project management tools such as Trello, and with databases
  • have a master-level university degree or equivalent professional experience; law, political science or social science are an excellent preparation

Further strong assets are:

  • good knowledge of country-of-origin information (COI) research methodology and experience conducting COI research
  • previous experience in volunteer recruitment and coordination 
  • knowledge of European/national migration law and policy
  • experience with project management and/or event organisation
  • experience in database management and quantitative/qualitative data analysis methodology (experience with Google Analytics is a benefit)
  • prior experience in website management (Wordpress and plugins) and web programming (PHP) 
  • knowledge of relevant communication tools (Mailchimp, Canva)

The position will be remunerated at 2,200 Euro a month (gross FTE, excl. holiday allowance).
