Unique School Solutions is supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in the S25 area of Sheffield to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a split role throughout school. You will be working 1:1 with a child with complex needs in the morning, and then supporting children in Key Stage 1 and 2 with speech, language, and communication needs in the afternoon.
This is a full-time role to commence ASAP, working Mondays to Fridays 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The role:
* Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs in a small and bespoke specialist provision within school

* Providing personalised support and learning to children with SEND

Essential requirements for the role:
* Previous and recent experience of working with children with SEND in a school environment
* Previous experience of working with children with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties
* Be prepared to support children’s physical needs, including supporting toileting, changing nappies and feeding children
* Have a good understanding of how the fundamentals of reading, writing and maths develop in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to use own initiative
* The ability to build rapport with young learners
* The ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff
* The ability to work 1:1 and support small groups with learning
