The below job description will outline this position of: Fire & Security Engineer
Typically, this person will be responsible for servicing, commissioning, fault finding, small works installations, site surveys and supporting fire system design projects across a broad customer base.
Duties and responsibilities of the Fire & Security Engineer will be:
• Service and commissioning of fire systems
• Reactive and scheduled maintenance visits including PPMs
• Carry out small works and installations
• Assist with site surveys and fire system designs as required
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders during installations and commissioning works
• Collate commissioning information and assist with O&M documentation
• Support other engineers and assist with technical site issues as required
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Participate in the on-call rota and provide second line phone support when required
Qualifications and requirements for the Fire & Security Engineer:
• Previous experience working on fire alarm systems
• Experience with service, commissioning and fault finding
• Ability to carry out installations and small works independently
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Strong communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
• Willingness to undertake manufacturer and industry training courses
• Flexible approach to working hours and occasional overnight stays
Working Hours & Package:
• Minimum 40 hours per week
• Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
• Flexibility required between 06:30 and 18:30 as business needs dictate
• Overtime paid at basic rate Monday to Friday, time and a half Saturdays, double time Sundays and Bank Holidays
• Door to door travel paid
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Company van provided during probation, suitable vehicle provided thereafter
• Fuel card provided
• Laptop and mobile phone supplied
• Pension scheme available under auto-enrolment legislation
• Expenses, accommodation and meals covered for overnight stays when required
