How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Dinnington. This is a fulfilling opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access their education.

    As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored assistance, helping pupils build confidence, overcome learning barriers, and achieve their potential.

    About the Role:

    You will work closely with teachers and senior staff to deliver personalised support that meets each pupil's unique requirements. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be working across different year groups and settings.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with various special educational needs.
    Assist in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual abilities.
    Support behaviour management and promote positive classroom engagement.
    Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and independence.
    Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and senior leadership.
    Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
    Requirements:

    Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
    Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
    Genuine commitment to supporting pupils' educational and personal development.
    An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
