How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Tripod are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work in North Powys County Council.
    • This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who is passionate about supporting individuals to maintain their independence, improve their quality of life, and remain safely within their own homes and communities.
    • Working across the beautiful rural communities of North Powys, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred assessments and interventions that help people overcome barriers in their daily lives.
    • You will work with adults of all ages who may have physical disabilities, long-term health conditions, frailty, or other complex needs, providing practical solutions that promote wellbeing, dignity, and independence.
    • As part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, your responsibilities will include carrying out occupational therapy assessments, recommending and arranging specialist equipment, advising on housing adaptations, and developing tailored support plans that meet individual needs.
    • You will work closely with service users, carers, healthcare professionals, housing providers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated and effective outcomes.
    • This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference within communities that value connection, resilience, and support.
    • North Powys provides a unique working environment, combining rewarding professional practice with outstanding natural surroundings, welcoming market towns, and strong community networks.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Undertake holistic occupational therapy assessments within community settings.
    • Recommend and facilitate the provision of equipment and minor or major adaptations.
    • Support individuals to maximise independence and reduce risks within the home environment.
    • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multidisciplinary professionals.
    • Maintain accurate records and contribute to person-centred care planning.
    • Promote independence, wellbeing, and safeguarding in line with legislative requirements and best practice.

    What We Are Looking For

    • Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.
    • Experience working within adult social care or community-based services.
    • Strong assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
    • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across rural communities.

    What We Offer

    • A supportive and welcoming team environment.
    • Meaningful work that positively impacts local communities.
    • Flexible and varied community-based practice.
    • Opportunity to gain valuable experience within adult social care.
    • The chance to work in one of the most scenic and community-focused areas of Wales.

If you are passionate about enabling people to live independently and want to be part of a dedicated and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
