How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Teaching Assistant
    Sheffield, S25
    £100 per day
    Start date: ASAP
    Contract type: Temp - perm
    Working hours: Monday – Friday, (term time only) 8.30- 3.30
    Unique School Solutions is supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in the S25 area of Sheffield to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to work with children with speech, language, and communication needs in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
    This is a full-time role to commence in January 2026. Initially, this role will be long-term temporary; there is the opportunity for a direct school contract for the right candidate with the school, following a successful probation period.

    The role:
    * Supporting children with speech, language and communication needs in a small and bespoke specialist provision within school

    * Providing personalised support and learning to children with SEND

    Essential requirements for the role:
    * Previous and recent experience of working with children with SEND in a school environment
    * Previous experience of working with children with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties
    * Be prepared to support children’s physical needs, including supporting toileting, changing nappies and feeding children
    * Have a good understanding of how the fundamentals of reading, writing and maths develop in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
    * Good literacy and numeracy skills
    * Ability to use own initiative
    * The ability to build rapport with young learners
    * The ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff
    * The ability to work 1:1 and support small groups with learning
