Caparis will continue to provide green maintenance in the municipality of Smallingerland until 2029. The two parties agreed to renew the contract after its expiration at the end of 2024.
Over the years, Caparis has maintained the municipal green spaces—trees, flowerbeds, parks, and cemeteries—within Smallingerland. The green workers will therefore continue for the next five years to ensure that the greenery is well cared for.
During their work, the green workers perform maintenance in public areas inside the built-up area and on municipal cemeteries. Their duties include weeding, mowing, pruning, fertilizing, and tree maintenance.
Werkzaamheden bestaan uit:

- Onderhoud van bomen
Mayor Maria le Roy is pleased with the renewal of the partnership: "The Caparis employees have shown that they do good work, which keeps our green spaces attractive. This is important for the living environment. We also provide many people in our municipality with rewarding jobs through Caparis."
Alex Bonnema from Caparis is also excited about the new contract: "We are an inclusive and sustainable company that offers people opportunities to participate and grow. We are happy that the municipality of Smallingerland—our shareholder—recognizes and values this. We are also a strong commercial partner, delivering quality at a fair price."
The new contract involves a budget of €2.34 million per year.
