The PositionThe agile Legal & Compliance team is responsible for providing optimal legal support across a broad range of legal and compliance areas, from commercial contracting to M&A, corporate matters and litigation, including supporting all operating companies. The team consists of highly empowered and business‑oriented senior lawyers who thrive in an international, fast‑paced environment.
The Legal Counsel will operate independently across commercial business support and collaborate with team members on complex M&A or JV matters.
Specific responsibilities within the team are:
- Commercial contracting: drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- M&A: overseeing and managing the legal aspects of all M&A activities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and other strategic transactions;
- Legal risk management: identifying and mitigating potential legal risks associated with the group’s activities;
- Advising management and business directors to act on changes in branch and company‑specific rules and regulations;
- Legal compliance: continuously monitoring, assisting and coordinating, and conducting training sessions for employees on a wide range of legal and compliance matters;
- Liaising with authorities: communicating with authorities to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues and streamline permit application processes;
- Claims: assisting with and managing insurance claims.
You are a proactive, entrepreneurial, hands‑on legal business advisor with a university degree in Dutch law and at least 6–8 years of experience in an international business advisory environment.
You are fluent in English and Dutch and work independently with many internal and external stakeholders in a fast‑paced, non‑hierarchical team of four.
The OfferThe role offers the ability to work at the group management office with short decision lines, close to the Executive Board. Competitive salary and excellent benefits are part of the offer. Occasional travel within Europe may be required. Regular attendance at the company’s HQ is expected, with a convenient commute by car and public transport, combined with partial work‑from‑home options.
