As the Team Lead Accounting, you shall serve as the 'financial conscience' for our Dutch and German entities. Your mandate extends beyond team management; you will safeguard quality, optimise workflows, and act as a strategic interlocutor for the Head of Finance. In a listed environment where agility and compliance are paramount, you will be a key part of our financial stability.
Tasks
The Challenge
This is an appointment for a professional who thrives within complexity and high-stakes financial environments. You will be expected to undertake the following:
- Empowering Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of four specialists, fostering a culture of professional ownership, transparency, and consensus-driven decision-making.
- Reporting Authority: Orchestrate the preparation of monthly group reports and statutory annual accounts in strict accordance with IFRS, HGB and Dutch GAAP.
- Strategic Liaison: Serve as the principal point of contact for external auditors. You will ensure that all documentation is not merely compliant, but rigorously 'audit-proof' (AO/IC).
- Process Architecture: Identify systemic inefficiencies and spearhead the design and implementation of agile solutions. You will translate complex regulatory requirements (e.g., transfer pricing) into robust operational workflows.
- Deputising Responsibilities: Support the Head of Finance on high-impact projects and represent the department at a management level during their absence.
Requirements
Your Professional Profile
We seek a candidate with a formidable analytical mind, exceptional communicative tact, and a natural capacity for leadership.
- Academic Foundation: A Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting. A formal qualification such as AA or RA (or being in the final stages of qualification) shall be considered a significant advantage.
- Proven Track Record: Extensive experience garnered within an audit firm or a sophisticated corporate finance department, complemented by demonstrable leadership success.
- Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive mastery of IFRS and Dutch GAAP is essential. Proficiency in HGB (German GAAP) shall be considered a significant advantage.
- Technological Proficiency & AI: You are highly adept in SAP and Excel. Furthermore, you possess a keen affinity for AI applications, with a desire to explore how artificial intelligence may further refine financial reporting and data-driven insights.
- Linguistic Versatility: Professional fluency in Dutch and English is a prerequisite for our international, cross-border operations. Proficiency in German is considered a big advantage
