This permanent internship position is designed for students and recent graduates who want hands-on experience in accounting and finance while contributing to a dynamic organization
Who are we looking for
- You are currently following an HBO or WO study in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- You have a strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset;
- You have good knowledge of Excel;
- You are eager to learn and have a proactive attitude;
- You have strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus);
- You are a team player with a responsible and professional mindset.
As an Accounting Intern, you will be involved in real business activities from day one. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with daily accounting and bookkeeping activities;
- Supporting invoice processing and payment administration;
- Helping prepare monthly financial reports and performing account reconciliations;
- Assisting during month-end and year-end closing activities;
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation;
- Supporting audits, compliance checks, and expense administration;
- Preparing Excel reports and financial analyses;
- Helping improve internal finance processes.

Santander Consumer Finance. We have been active in the consumer finance market in the Netherlands since 1985 (car financing, personal loans and stock financing). In the Netherlands, we serve our customers from our office in Utrecht, and since 1992 also in Belgium from our office in Merelbeke (near Ghent). The leasing company Santander Leasing is also part of Santander (in the Netherlands with offices in Den Bosch, and in Belgium from Merelbeke). Our Benelux team consists of approximately 350 colleagues. Together, we are part of the Santander Group, one of the largest financial institutions in the world.
