COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank's operations. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives.
To deliver on these ambitious promises, we are looking for a Product Lead who has an end-to-end strategic focus around our services and leads our squads in terms of clear prioritization, accountability and capabilities. The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end transformation responsibility. You work not only on delivery and on how we run a product, but also on creating a vision on how we improve our services, how we manage the business value and how we increase collaboration across functions.
You do that by steering squads who work on a specific service by providing them with a strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders. The people who work in the squads report to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship and you have continuous conversations about their career development. As a Product Lead you report hierarchically to the Tribe Lead.
Data & Reporting Tribe within COO Risk domain will focus on converting data into information via delivery of ready-for-use Credit Risk modelling data and management & regulatory risk reports. To create the data to be ready for use, not only extracting data from global or local systems, but also further advanced data processing is needed. This requires knowledge of the data sources, as well as understanding how the data will be consumed (such as modelling or reporting activities).

As a Product Lead, you:
Will lead data collection activities for model re-development, monitoring and validation for Wholesale Banking portfolios
Take ownership of a sizable number of explicit regulatory transformation initiatives

Build the craftsmanship of the employees in the team in line with the strategy of the Tribe
Ensure compliance with relevant regulation and internal/external requirements
How to succeed
We are looking for a leader who takes things on and makes things happen; who is passionate about helping others to be successful; and has a knack for always being a step ahead. You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals. You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions to problems.
As a Product Lead, you will also need to be able to:
Drive and manage large change programs in an international context and master complex financial content
Lead and deliver complex (multi-year) change programs on program level - covering multiple countries / functional departments
Communicate effectively to senior management, in which you can adapt your style and the content of your communication to the needs of others you work with. You always pay attention to the input and opinions of others
Be organizational savvy, you maneuver easily through complex policies, processes and people-related organizational dynamics across ING
Look ahead, you show a strategic mindset and you find future opportunities which you can translate into concrete strategies
Be tech savvy, where you anticipate and leverage innovations in digital and technical applications that make ING commercially stronger and more effective
Build an effective team, that has diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
People management: being responsible for the inflow, progression, and outflow of employees of 'your' teams and playing an active role in the well-being and engagement of employees and the development of their craftsmanship
Your scope:
The Wholesale Banking business line invests in their regulatory credit risk models to better manage their credit portfolio. You will lead the data collection activities for model re-development and monitoring purposes for the Wholesale Banking portfolio rating systems.
