Vacancy informationFor our client, we are looking for an experienced Buyer who will play an important role in leading offshore projects. These include offshore wind transformer stations, floating wind platforms, hydrogen platforms and projects within the oil and gas industry. In this position, you will directly contribute to sustainable, high-quality and cost-efficient solutions for the energy infrastructure of the future.
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing materials and services for complex technical projects. You will ensure that the right products and services are available on time, under the right conditions and at the required level of quality. In doing so, you will continuously focus on planning, cost control, risk management and delivery reliability.
You will actively contribute to optimising procurement processes and building long‑term relationships with suppliers worldwide. With your commercial insight and structured approach, you know how to assess suppliers effectively, document agreements clearly and identify potential supply‑chain risks at an early stage. When challenges arise, you think ahead and propose suitable alternatives, while keeping the overall project planning firmly in mind.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues in engineering, project management and finance. Together, you will create integrated solutions that support the progress and quality of international offshore energy projects. Your work will therefore have a direct impact on projects that play an important role in the development of sustainable energy generation.
You will join a professional Procurement team consisting of experienced buyers and project professionals. The working atmosphere is open, engaged and collaborative. You will report to the Manager Procurement and have frequent contact with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This makes the position varied, international and technically challenging.
This role is well suited to someone who takes ownership, works in a results‑oriented way and enjoys complex procurement processes within a technical project environment. You are analytically strong, able to set priorities and maintain oversight, even when schedules are tight and the stakes are high.
What do you need- Completed bachelor’s degree, for example, in technical business administration, business administration, supply chain management or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a procurement role.
- Experience within the offshore, energy, or technical industry is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of contract management, delivery planning, cost efficiency, and quality assurance.
- Affinity with sustainability, offshore energy projects, and the energy transition.
- Strong negotiation skills, both on commercial terms and detailed terms & conditions.
- Analytical mindset and a proactive, solution‑oriented attitude.
- Ability to identify supply‑chain risks in a timely manner and propose suitable alternatives.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to take individual responsibility within a team environment.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Good command of the Dutch language is an advantage.
