As a QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality and reliability of Xilium, our core back-office engine for traffic enforcement. Xilium is a mission-critical platform used by internal operators and external authorities, including police and court officials. Given the nature of this ecosystem, your work is essential to maintaining the system's functionality, security, and regulatory compliance. We are currently in the final stages of a major transition, moving Xilium from a legacy on-premises monolith to a cloud-native microservices architecture. With key components already in production and a full migration planned for this year, you will play a key role in this technical evolution by applying your expertise in functional and non-functional automation to ensure our web platform remains stable and performant as we scale our services to cities worldwide.

What you’ll be doing- Build and Maintain Automated Tests: You will develop and sustain robust automated test scripts and frameworks. As a key player in our small team, your focus will be on practically expanding test coverage to ensure Xilium consistently meets our high-quality standards.
- Contribute to Process Improvements: You will actively look for ways to refine our quality assurance framework, specifically regarding automation. We encourage you to suggest and implement industry best practices that help elevate our testing strategy and product quality.
- Collaborate on Requirements: You will work directly with developers and product managers to clarify system requirements. Your test results will provide vital feedback, ensuring the whole team has a shared understanding of the system's capabilities and limits.
- Validate Component Integration: You will ensure the seamless interaction of our various software components — including Xilium, Puls, and Flux — through automated testing, you will verify that these integrated services function flawlessly together to deliver a reliable user experience.
- Proven QA Engineering Experience: Demonstrable experience as a QA Engineer, with a strong emphasis on automated testing of both backend and frontend components.
- Expertise in Testing Methodologies: Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and adherence to industry best practices.
- Skilled in Automation Tools: Skilled in building and maintaining automation frameworks using Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright, along with comprehensive API testing (Postman/Bruno) to validate system logic.
- Exceptional Problem-Solving Ability: Outstanding problem-solving skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Performance and Load Testing Familiarity: Knowledge of performance and load testing tools is considered beneficial.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within the team.

The Xilium Ecosystem & Our Tech Stack: As a QA Engineer, you will work at the heart of our integrated three-pillar product line, designed to handle the entire enforcement lifecycle:
- Flux: Our roadside edge devices (IoT), combining custom hardware and Golang software to capture data in real-time.
- Puls: Our powerful data backend, written in Golang, where roadside data is collected, analyzed, and enriched.
- Xilium: Our Java-based enterprise frontend and back-office engine, where the critical processing of violations takes place.
