In 2018, Bitvavo launched the first version of its digital assets trading platform, to bridge the gap between traditional currencies and digital assets. By offering transparent fees, a wide range of assets and an easy to use platform, Bitvavo is making the currency of the future accessible for everyone.

As Director of User Experience & Design, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital asset platforms. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will lead a multi-disciplinary department of designers, UX researchers, and UX writers, building systems and structures that elevate our user experience to the next level. • Define and execute the UX and design strategy in close collaboration with the Chief Product Officer
• Lead and scale a high-performing department of designers, researchers, and UX copywriters through a manager-of-managers structure
• Build robust UX processes and structures that foster collaboration with cross-functional teams and align with business goals
• Advocate for the customer at every stage of the product lifecycle through research-driven and data-informed design decisions
• Champion and evolve Bitvavo’s design principles to ensure a clean, professional, and engaging experience across all platforms
• Oversee the development and adoption of a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency across channels and product teams
• Inspire a culture of design excellence, continuous improvement, and customer-centric innovation within the UX discipline

• Proven experience leading and scaling UX teams of 25 or more in a fast-paced digital B2C environment
• At least 12 years of UX design experience, with a minimum of 7 years in leadership roles
• Background in fintech or crypto, with bonus points for experience in trading or investing products
• Strong systems thinking and a strategic mindset, connecting design excellence with product and business outcomes
• Deep empathy for users and a strong track record of leveraging UX research to drive impactful product decisions
• High standards for design quality and a passion for creating intuitive and elegant user experiences
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization while advocating for the UX voice
