Maintenance Manager | DSL-01

About the role

As Maintenance Manager DSL-01, you bring the existing asset management and turnaround strategy to life with external maintenance partners. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you act as the primary point of contact for all outsourced maintenance service providers.

A typical day combines strategy, contractor leadership, and operational reliability. You will coordinate with operations and external partners, improve preventive maintenance plans, monitor asset performance, and strengthen the plant’s long‑term reliability framework.

This position offers a unique combination of strategic asset management, turnaround planning, operational reliability, contractor leadership, and system building.

You will:

• Translate strategy into operational governance and measurable plant performance
• Build and lead an outsourced maintenance organization fully integrated with plant operations
• Design and implement the facility’s asset management and turnaround plan, including lifecycle management, capital planning, and risk assessment
• Optimize maintenance budgets and contractor performance
• Minimize downtime to prevent demurrage, delays, and production losses
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards

Your profile

You recognize yourself in the following:

Must have

• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Asset Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, or Operations Management
• 10+ years of experience in Asset Management, Maintenance, or operations leadership in industrial production environments
• Reside in or near the Delfzijl area

Experience

• Experience in logistics, storage terminals, (petro)chemical or oleochemical operations, or manufacturing
• Proven track record managing outsourced maintenance providers or technical service contracts, including performance‑based models
• Proficient in CMMS/EAM, familiar with reliability tools (RCM, RCA, FMEA), and knowledgeable about safety compliance and regulatory maintenance requirements

About DSL‑01

DSL‑01 is SkyNRG’s frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual fats and greases using the HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids) pathway, with additional renewable products like butane, propane, and naphtha as by‑products.

DSL‑01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by‑products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by‑products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.

Construction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. At DSL‑01, you will be part of a team building a state‑of‑the‑art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing to a truly sustainable energy future.
