What will you do?As a software engineer at Floryn, you'll work in small project teams, usually with two engineers and a colleague from another department (such as Risk, Sales, Marketing). You'll be jointly responsible for designing and building new features for applications; on the web, mobile, and backend. You'll ensure the quality of our codebases, which are based on open-source technology; we like to keep everything clean, up-to-date, and secure.
About the teamThe development team consists of about 20 colleagues. Together, we create the software used by Floryn to provide financing: the platform where our users withdraw money, the systems that ensure money is actually transferred, tools to assess who we can and cannot help, and much more.
Our team consists entirely of developers who, in collaboration with the rest of the company, are responsible for ensuring they build the right things. We don\u2019t have product managers; we design what we make ourselves, both technically and interface-wise. We\u2019re not a ticket factory - everyone understands why they\u2019re working on something and what impact they\u2019re making.
The technology we build is the core of our business, so we work with a fully in-house development team. We believe in healthy work relationships and long-term solutions, not in 70-hour workweeks and temporary hacks.
The technologyWe work with a modern, open-source based stack. Our platforms run largely on Ruby on Rails, with a PostgreSQL database and are hosted in Docker Containers on AWS. Everything we create is automatically tested locally and on CI in extensive test suites. We ship new code to production every day.
What you\'ll bringYou write good, clean software and hold quality in high regard. You\'re able to organize your own work and understand how your software is used. You provide your code with appropriate tests and documentation.

You want to work on both front-end and back-end, implementing features across the entire stack
We don\'t care if you\'ve been doing this work for 20 years or just graduated. Good developers are always welcome. (This naturally affects the terms of employment.)
Experience with Ruby is a plus, but experience with other functional or object-oriented languages is sufficient to start (more than half of the team learned Ruby at Floryn)
A salary based on your capabilities (range of €3500-€7000), pension contribution, and 30 vacation days
