We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and optimize large-scale data platforms that enable advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. This role involves leading technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

• Design and Implement Data Platforms: Architect and maintain robust, scalable data platforms using modern technologies.
• Develop and Optimize Pipelines: Build automated ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Cloud Integration: Implement and manage solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Big Data Processing: Utilize Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks for distributed data processing.
• Data Warehousing: Design and optimize data warehouses using Snowflake and BigQuery.
• Data Modeling & Governance: Define data models, enforce governance, and ensure compliance with security standards.

• 7+ years in data engineering, including leadership or architect-level experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java or Scala, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Expertise in big data frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks.
• Proven ability to design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, security standards, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
• Fluent in Dutch (C1 level) and English.
• Willingness to travel and work at client locations.
