We are looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our team at NN and help us achieve our goal of becoming a socially responsible tech company that delivers digital products our customers love.
What you are going to do
As a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for provisioning, maintaining and improving our Kubernetes platform that currently contains over 50 clusters and hosts multiple production workloads, including mission-critical ones.
The NN Container Platform consists of multiple distinct platforms built on top of Amazon EKS, Amazon EKS Hybrid nodes and Azure AKS. It is our mission to empower NN's engineers by offering them a highly scalable, managed Cloud-Native platform that integrates the best fitting technologies, all according to NN security and compliancy standards. It is your job to make sure that compute resources are provisioned, policy management is taken care of, security integrations are done, operational metrics and dashboards are available, and more to deliver an enterprise grade Kubernetes platform in AWS. This should enable NN's engineers to focus on developing their microservices on top of the platform.
The current version of the platform is built as a software product. This means that we follow lean and agile methodologies to ship features as with a software project. We gradually release software in alpha and beta phases and gather feedback from users during these early stages. Every change is built locally and integrated from the version control system through a pull request. Additionally, we use one language for everything in the platform, which is TypeScript.
Another important design principle is simplicity. We aim to optimize the work of the team, so that it becomes more fun to deliver our environment due to reduced complexity and ease of new feature development. Simplification leads to more agility to respond to our users' demands. We are significantly shifting towards more cloud native services, eliminating overhead and also introducing the use AWS CDK and GitOps to replace existing Infrastructure as Code implementations with more future-proof technologies.
Does this trigger your interests? Don't hesitate and join our Cloud-Native containership!
Your responsibilities
- You enable the business to focus on where it matters and adds value; developing microservices
- You deliver one of NN's most advanced hosting solutions based on Kubernetes on AWS, used by DevOps teams to host their containerized microservices
- You develop rock-solid add-ons within our Kubernetes platform using GitOps processes and tools (based on projects from the CNCF ecosystem), that make a short time to market possible and help our developers deliver secure, cost efficient and stable services
- You are operationally responsible for the smooth sailing of the platform
- By applying smart design principles, you help reduce the price per container, which minimizes the cost footprint
What we offer you

And the following soft skills:
