International Business Consultant

Sqills is looking for an experienced business consultant that translates complex problems into simple and sustainable solutions that drive business results.

What will you do as a Business Consultant?

As a Consultant at Sqills, you do more than just implement software; you serve as a long‑term strategic partner for the world’s leading rail and bus operators. You will guide our customers in modeling their complex business processes within our industry‑leading SaaS product: S3 Passenger.

In this role, you bridge the gap between initial implementation and long‑term operational excellence. You won't just “go live” and walk away; you will provide ongoing high‑level consultancy to customers already in production, ensuring they extract maximum value from the platform as their market evolves.

Your impact and responsibilities

Managing S3 Passenger involves navigating mission‑critical processes within a functionally rich and flexible environment. Your mission is to ensure the platform scales alongside the customer's ambitions through:

• Strategic Account Consultancy: You act as a trusted advisor for established partners, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize their existing configuration and improve operational efficiency.
• Expansion & Modular Growth: You lead projects to introduce new functionalities or modules (such as advanced loyalty, distribution, or dynamic pricing tools) to existing customers, helping them stay ahead of the competition.
• Business Process Evolution: You help customers translate “what's next” into “how to,” guiding them through the adoption of new S3 Passenger features that address continuously evolving passenger needs.
• System Integration & Ecosystem Mastery: You remain the bridge between S3 Passenger and the customer’s broader IT landscape. You ensure seamless connectivity with upstream channels (B2C, B2B, B2E) and downstream systems (Finance and Accounting, CRM, Revenue Management), maintaining a robust and integrated ecosystem throughout the entire customer lifecycle.

We have a global customer base, ranging from North America to a strong customer base in Europe. With a global go‑to‑market strategy we are continuously growing and expanding our footprint to Asia Pacific and South America. You will be a crucial element to continue our international growth plans.

While we offer the flexibility of hybrid working, most of our colleagues primarily work from our Enschede headquarters to collaborate on customer challenges and solutions. You are also welcome to use our Amersfoort office or work from home on days that require dedicated focus.

We are looking for someone with:

• You are willing to travel to customers on occasion;
• You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a consultant or information analyst in IT;
• You have experience working in an international environment, having worked with different cultures and customers;
• You have a strong understanding of market and consumer trends in public transport;
• You are inquisitive and can build a deep understanding of our customers' business to help them get the most out of S3 Passenger and provide them with a sustainable solution;
• You are a solution‑oriented collaborator who thrives on challenging the status quo through an unconditionally constructive and proactive mindset;
• Experience with working in an agile environment is a plus;
• Experience working for a company offering a SaaS product is a plus;
• You like having different responsibilities, working in small teams on challenging assignments;
• You like working in a multi‑disciplinary team with ~10 colleagues and sharing your experience and knowledge for the better of the team and customer;
• You are fluent in English, both verbal and in writing and can communicate in a customer‑centric way. It may be helpful if you speak Dutch, but not required;
• Any additional language is a major benefit, it being Spanish, French or any other global language.
