We're seeking an Interim Auditor - Direct European Taxation (m/f/x) to support the internal audit function of a leading multinational organization. With a focus on complex tax operations spanning multiple European jurisdictions, this short-term engagement offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to make an impact in a truly international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Interim Auditor - Direct European Taxation in Amsterdam, your primary objective will be to evaluate and optimize the client's direct tax processes, ensuring compliance and robust governance. You'll be tasked with:
- Reviewing governance frameworks to ensure alignment with EU direct tax laws
- Assessing the accuracy and timeliness of tax filing, reporting, and payment processes
- Evaluating controls over tax documentation and regulatory correspondence
- Identifying and addressing potential compliance risks within the tax landscape
- Auditing account reconciliation and tax recoverability procedures
- Providing insights on annual direct tax review processes across EU legal entities
- Ensuring effective management of regulatory updates and implementing changes in tax laws
To succeed in this Amsterdam-based role, you meet the following criteria:
- Extensive knowledge of direct European tax regulations, particularly in jurisdictions such as the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy
- Proven experience in internal audit within multinational organizations
- An in-depth understanding of tax compliance, risk management, and control frameworks
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently under time constraints
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Duration: June 16, 2025 - July 4, 2025
- Location: Onsite in Amsterdam
- Work Arrangement: Full-time interim assignment (freelance/contract)
